coldstardavid
ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Enable QE CI under LEOPARD10.5.6/10.5.7 My English is not very good, please excuse me! Hey guys, after a long hard read and a lot of head scratching, i finally got QE/CI enabled on my ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 under IDENEB10.5.6 (upgrade to 10.5.7 already)! This solution has been consulted PCBETA 、insanelymac、kenapple and other forums ,also with the support of several insanelymac members, thank you here together!Quoted FlashGX's words:" Whether this is a good thing or not is a question ive yet to answer. A few cosmetic things are annoying now, such as the completely transparent menubar which has lost the apple logo. But, i have faith that now, if this method of enabling QE/CI on pre x1000 cards can be proven for more models, then maybe the brains here at InsanelyMac will be able to help me in ironing out the issues and making the full OS X experience available to people with older hardware such as myself!" Relevant driver files that were used can be found here http://bbs.pcbeta.com/thread-142683-1-1.html http://bbs.kenapple.com/thread-1502-1-1.html You can download the attachment that I offered directly too if you can't find 1) Prerequisite: Not selecting any drive while installing IDENEB, install Callisto at first _ B006 urges (this drive support ATIX550 better, can adjust the resolution ratio and not have stringy phenomenon of mouse); 2) replace systematic ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin and these two files of the same name of ATIRadeon9700.kext with Tiger10.4.8; 3) Third, install the drive of koverg-patch9700-v0.2; ( my display card ID is: 5b60 just the same as 9700, it may have no difference that this step is not done ); 4) revise QE/CI that ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin opens the display card to support; 5) replace ATIRadeon9700GLDriver with ATIRadeonX1000GLDriver; 6) install Natit.kext; 7) delete ATINDVR.kext (do not know this file was not typed by mistake either: Unless it is for one piece ATINDRV.Kext not to think I, anyway order take make),delete /* of System/Library/Extensions.*; 8) repair the magnetic disc authority: Diskutil repairPermissions /(last the seven or eighth); Restart, find QE: Support CI: The hardware has already been accelerated but another question appears, there is stringy phenomenon of mice, still wait to solve! about.tiff caidan.tiff qeci.tiff The detailed step can consult the description of each model, stick to out here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...mp;#entry918283 (NOTE: This method was not created by me, all credit goes to the members that posted in this thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=70808 All i did was compile the tutorial and gather the appropriate kexts!) ------------------ attached files: ATIRadeon9700.zip Callisto_b006.zip koverg_patch9700_v0.2.rar Natit_edited.kext.zip More detail solution you can download the manual: ATI_X550_OPEN_QE_CI_english.rar Any help is welcomed! skype:coldstardavid msn:coldstardavid@hotmail.com

gentjan
A strange situation: in one case, appears to have QE / CI. In another case, no QE / CI.When it appears to have QE / CI: no videos in DVD Player; no video in VLC. Conclusion: QE / CI useless. We tested: Dell Dimension 4700; Graphics card: ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series. Grafika.tiff
