I'm currently reinstalling my whole machine and intend to multiple boot on 5 HDDs with OS X and XP x64 on the same HDD in GUID. You shouldn't use logic to make wrong assumptions like "Installing from the retail DVD only allows you to use GUID partition table => This means you cant use the same hard drive for windows or linux." without having all the information : Microsoft was part of the commitee that created EFI and GUID...
