beastt Posted July 15, 2009 Share Posted July 15, 2009 Hello people im having a little trouble with installing OSX68 with my sata controllers.. I have a Gigabyte P31-S3L it has a "82891GB (ICH7/R) southbridge chip.. i install all three versions of osx86 sucessfully though ONLY on and threw IDE.. IDE dvd rom + IDE hhd. ive installed many times selecting ACHI driver, intel sata controller ect... ONE BY ONE OF course and to no success in enableing my 4 sata ports.... the 3 im trying r iPC_OSx86_10_5_6_Universal_PPF5_Final, iDeneb_v1.4_10.5.6, IATKOS V7 10.5.7.. The most luck i have is with iatkos as it see's all my hardware (see pic included) but i carnt get it going? ive tired all configerations with my sata bios options ... last nite stumbled across this sticky "AppleIntelPIIXATA kext fully working for all ICHx Mobo (All Sata Channels working) " i tried the terminal way as i didnt have that program in apps folder.. "when i installed i didnt put a password in" when i put in first command "sudo -s" it did ask me for password,casue i dont have one i pressed enter,it went past that part but when i did rest "LINE BY LINE ? ? <" i had an error for each one.... i did follow it as best i could.. only been using mac for a little bit... after the errors i restarted and broke my install... so i reinstaleld again and this time tried "program way" but when i go to install it it asks for ROOT password and for the love of me i dont know it lol... i did delete wat u had to ect.... COULD I ASK A FAVOR lol If anyone has same board or ICH7/R could u tell me "guide" me on how to get my satas working...im a bit of a newbie on mac... thanks for ur time in reading this guys Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
