xaide
Hello, people... First of all, thaks a lot for this forum, your posts got Leopard working on my PC. Now there's a last one thing for me to make it perfect.. I need to control the fan of my Asus EAH4870 (like in Catalyst when running Windows). Does anybody know how to do that? Thanks again guys, you're awesome.
TurdFergasun
only way i'm aware of, and currently using, is to mod the video bios of the card so the fan ramps up much sooner than the stock bios is set for. used RBE in windows to mod my HIS 4870 512mb bios, and seems to work fine, but sometimes the fan does seem to hunt a bit when playing hi bitrate movies thru xbmc on secondary monitor. the card's exhaust does keep to a normal temperature and the back of the car no longer burns my fingers. xaide
Thanks a lot for your time man... I was trying to avoid editing BIOS but I'm starting to think it'll be the only way. Well... lets do that. Thanks again. [EDIT] Things didn't work so good. I set up the fan about 30% til it reaches 60C and then increase with the temperture, but it started at 42%. Under Mac OS it just goes to the stock 22% after start at those same 42%. God knows LOL.
