Intel 945GM worked with Kalyway 5.2 install...lost with updates

Hello,

I got intrigued with Leopard and decided to try to install it on a second partition on my Sony Vaio laptop. I ended up having to go through 2 of the distro's before finding Kalyway's version just to be able to get a copy that would even load the install screen. (but that's a whole other story)

Anyway, during my last round of installing Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD, I went into the Custom settings and selected the Intel GMA950 video driver. Everything was working good. Then I followed some instructions on here to update the 10.5.2, to 10.5.3, then 10.5.4, and finally up to 10.5.5.

As soon as I made the jump to 10.5.3, I would get the Blue screen. So I ran the "movevideodrivers" and had to answer YES to all the prompts to get OSx to load again where I could see the desktop.

Now that I'm all updated, I wanted to try and get the Video drivers back. I had made a copy of the /System/Library/Extension folder before my first update so I think I have what I need somewhere in there. I'm just new to Mac (unix for that matter) and I'm not sure what I need to do.

I had tried to copy the kext back into the folder, ran the fix permissions, but OSx would not get past the initial gray screen so I had to re-do that movevideodrivers to clean everything up in order to get back into the OS
