Hi!

I try to get my Sapphire Radeon 4870 working on my Hackintosh. I did a vanilla install with 10.5.6 and updated to 10.5.7 in the meantime.

I've installed the driver package from http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=107526 or rarther from here: http://osx86.radeonhd.eu but it seems the driver wouldn't got loaded.

Display:

Type: Display
Bus: PCIe
PCIe Lane Width: x16
VRAM (Total): 256 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x9440
Revision ID: 0x0000
Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded
Displays:
Display:
Resolution: 1024 x 768
Depth: 32-Bit Color
Core Image: Software
Main Display: Yes
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes
Quartz Extreme: Not Supported

I can't select any other Screen Resolution then 1024x768

What to do?

Would be nice if anybody could help!

I have a sapphire HD4870 1 gig working with resolution change and QE and CI. The only thing I seem to have as a limitation is that I cannot get DVI-Dual output. Not two DVI outputs but support of 2560x1600. I have a 30" display capable of that res but the best I can do is 1920x1200 or so. In fact I have to use a normal DVI cable or I just get a black screen.

I used the instructions in the "Simple guide..." thread. I am running 10.5.6 and not 10.5.7. I have a Asus p6t deluxe v2 and did a vanilla install from a 10.5.6 retail disk.

I would love to get DVI-dual working but I can get by on the 1920x1200 resolution. The only inconvenience is that I have to change cables when booting over from win7.

I haven't done the 10.5.7 update because I just want to spend a little time getting familiar with this setup before I undertake more mods. I'm trying to learn a bit more about unix first.
