Dear all,

This is a small tutorial how to install OSX 10.5.7 on acer aspire 3810T.

What you should do:

1) Download Ideneb V1.4 (OSX 10.5.6).

2) Download new VoodooHDA.kext at this address:

http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,139.0.html

3) Download OSX 10.5.7 on official apple website:

http://wsidecar.apple.com/cgi-bin/nph-reg3...Combo10.5.7.dmg

Now how to install those components:

1) You should own one external DVD drive to load the Ideneb OSX 10.5.6

When you will have the selection menu of the key just select: ACPI battery manager.

Then click install. After 30mn your computer should reboot without any problem.

2) Install the driver sound. Very easy just install the VoodooHDA.kext as usual key with key helper.

Before reboot open the terminal and perform repair the disk permission then reboot.

3)Last step it's to install OSX V10.5.7. For it, Open the terminal and write those lines below:

Before you run the downloaded file, open up Terminal and type "sudo su -" without the quotes. Enter your user password and then type "while sleep 1 ; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext ; done" without the quotes.

Keep this window open while you run the downloaded update and install it.

Finally you will have your ACER running OSX but without the good resolution.

You can force it using consono method located in this link

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...29744&st=20

COMPONENTS WORKING

SOUND:ok with HDA FIX.

KEYBOARD AND MOUSE:ok without installing any key.

USB:ok without installing any key.

CARD READER: ok without installing any key.

BATTERY: ok with the ACPI BAT MANAGER.

COMPONENTS NOT WORKING

WIFI: No but you should change by an other one such as Dell 1500n or 1397:

ETHERNET: No, at this moment i don't know how to fix it.

VIDEO: No, Only the resolution can be forced to 1366x768.

Enjoy..

Hello,

Can you put your /boot/grub2/grub.cfg?

I have in mine,

915resolution 34 1366 768

set gfxmode = 1366x768

When grub2 loads, the grub menu text can not be readed at 1366x768.

The text are symbols.

Thanks.

Help?!

I have recently purchased an Acer 3810T as discussed above. I tried the guide, expecting no problems. The first time I never selected customize for some stupid reason, so I understood my error, the second time, without fully reformatting I selected customize & chose 'battery manager' (I didn't see 'ACPI battery manager'). Again, after a reboot the screen hangs on the Grey Apple logo with the no entry sign.

What am I doing wrong? Can someone help?!
