Is it worth to get an CPU which supports Vanderpool (VT)?

Hello,

i am using mac osx 10.4.6 on a ASUS P5LD2-VM/Pentium D805. I tried out parallels, it worked fine except bad cursor movement/dvd drive performance/lack of a better video solution.

I am thinking of getting an Pentium 4 Cpu with Vanderpool Support. I realy like the idea that i can run osx/windows/linux and switch easily between them.

Do you guys know if it will work? And do you think it would be worth getting one?

Thanks in advance

Core Duo and even Solo has VT

Also Conroe = Merom as features (just that Merom is for laptops. Also Merom name is no more :) it is now called Intel Core Duo 2)

Conroe is Intel Core Duo 2 Extreme or smthg

Well,

as mmk mentioned there are some cpu´s which support Vanderpool(VT).

The Intel Pentium D 920 which i am thinking of buying is one of them.

I think i might "risk" it and buy the Intel Pentium D 920 and give it a try, it isn´t that expensive.
