Ah sweet irony. but seriously, the thing that irks me the most is people ragging on socialism/communism. they seem to forget that not too long ago in the scope of world history, the american system of government and notion of liberties were just as radical and controversial as marxism.

 

@ bluedragon don't quote ww2 statistics when dealing with the current "war on terror". they have nothing to do with each other. just as the current insurgents we are fighting have nothing in common with the world-threatening, fascist, axis war machine. calling the death toll high, an over exaggeration. Unnecessary? most certainly.

 

personally i have nothing wrong with conservatism, just the neo-conservatist who quote their civil liberties regarding their right to property and business while exploiting others for personal gain. for example, the ones who sabotaged several flights and staged an elaborate terrorist attack on the united states in order to secure weapons and oil contracts in the middle east. If you’ll permit a wwii reference; to the best of my knowledge it was the japanese, not uncle sam, that bombed pearl harbor and dragged us into a war we wanted no part in. I have a hard time believing conspiracies, but i do have faith in the ruthlessness of those looking for political and monetary gain. the fact that these groups are a part of or in league with neo-conservatist factions just happens to be a coincidence.

 

 

 

Ps. True, the over-consumption of cannabis can make you a blathering retard. The demonization of it’s effects on people in disregard to its merit as a recreational drug, medicine and cash crop? utterly ridiculous. The only reason marijuana is still illegal in the united states today is the irrational fear of the liberal thought associated with its cultivation and use. I know many republicans who say under the law they believe individuals have the right to smoke marijuana without perse/prosecution. It just so happens that they’re too lazy to remonstrate the government for that right.

Thanks for posting my article Shelley; I submitted this to the mainstream IT press, but none of them wanted to know. It’s shocking to learn that the same liberal bias that infects mainstream news-sources also affects the technical press.

 

Yes, Linux is a primative European clone; It is much less capable than Windows. In fact it omits features that were standard in Windows back in 1998; For example Linux has no built-in anti-virus or anti-spyware software.

 

You cannot even buy popular utilities like Norton Security to compensate for this fact. There are no tools for common tasks like defragging a hard disk. God knows what you would use to send a fax or make a website. You cannot even get Front Page for Linux.

 

Linux is that bad; The only explaination I can think for people using it is that it by-passes the protection given by American companies and the Dept of Homeland Security. It should be considered a terrorist program.
