Will I have to boot with an NVIDIA for a 3870?

Hello all, great forum, I am slowly building my station.

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P

Intel Q8400 Core2Quad

4gig Ram

Seagate Baracuda 500gb

Pioneer DVD 20x +r-r

and

SAPPHIRE 100225L Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 PCI Express 2.0 x16 (GREAT DEAL AT NEWEGG!! like $75)

I want to do the retail install, so I am using weaksauce12's tutorial, and the suggested bootloader, and install chameleon.

In the weaksauce12 tutorial, he says that I will have to boot with a NVIDIA card because I won't be able to boot with my 3870, but I want to use NATIT drivers, and not the driver he suggests here.

If I use the "Natit.kext" as my 3870 diver, will I be able to just boot into a terminal or do a safe boot using my installed 3870? Or am I going to have to find a nvidia card, use the weaksauce bootloader, install retail leopard, then install natit.kext, then swap out an nvidia for the 3870, then have a working OSx86?

I see the terminal instructions on the sticky threads, but I can't tell if that is from booting to a terminal, or from the terminal of a safe or regular boot OSx86.

Thanks for any help..
