joeblowm
Why not check for replies to the other topic you created on exactly the same issue? http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=168902 Also, you might try reading instead of just doing... You may be getting a jumpy/bouncy screen on your 4850 when you move your mouse.See that "50" in "4850", and how it doesn't look like "30" at all? There is a good reason... To fix.. at boot prompt use -s as boot option, this is safe mode and will be just text. Once you get a prompt type, with each line followed by a return: mount -uw /sudo rm -R /System/Library/Extension/Natit.kext sudo rm -R /System/Library/Extension/ATINDRV.kext reboot At reboot, use the -f flag to rebuild the kext cache. Don't read at your own peril : you could also just boot with -x, which will disable most video driver and allow you to get past the grey screen to remove the problem kext and reinstall the right ones for your card. And once again, see the post I replied to you before as the one you are quoting is rather old now. Here it is so you don't even have to click to go to the other thread you posted in xlabs: See my post:http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...0&start=20# Try the stuff from netkas's site (here) first though if you are at 10.5.7 If you go to the end of that thread I also outline the method for 'injecting' a fixed bios into the plist so you don't have to reflash your 4830 to get rid of jumping screen issues. Consider this: before a few weeks ago I had never used OSX before but managed to figure all of this out on my own using google and this forum, without asking for a single thing or reinstalling from scratch... the info you require is here already, thanks to folks like netkas who have done the 'heavy lifting' and others who were persistent and generous enough to share their methods.
