Also heres everythings fine with 10.5.7 and my GA-EP35-DS3, 2 GB RAM, and NV 8500GT. Only the Podcasts won't work! I cannot download Podcasts since iTunes 8.2

...and why did I buy a new Ipod Touch? Without Podcasts.... :-(

I can use the Appstore or download Music, but Podcast downloading is impossible... Has anyone some answers for me please???

After update iTunes to 8.2 mac can't find/see my iPod. I'm getting error in system.log
com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.usbmuxd[432]): getpwnam("_usbmuxd") failed
com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.usbmuxd[432]): Exited with exit code: 1
Any help?

I was having the same issue. I followed instructions here:
http://patrickgibson...such/000199.php

To create a _usbmuxd user and group. Now I have permissions issues:
MobileDevice: store_dict_osx: Could not create /var/db/lockdown//97d0b58a558404c9b2de6b2d3d866d0750e1a7ea.plist: Permission denied

Any ideas? Did you get past your issue somehow?

Thanks.

I have an issue with itunes 8.2, every time I connect my ipod touch if itunes is not already running and I start the app, it will crash, but if I open first itunes 8.2 and then connect the ipod, its fine, no crash. Never have this problem before, weird.

A more complete procedure for adding the user appears at:

http://www.ubertechnologist.com/?p=118
"iPhone not recognized or charging after OS update"

But, even that article contains a typo in the "executable" portion ... two missing CR/LFs. Here is his list of commands to add the user "_usbmuxd":

dscl localhost -create /Local/Default/Users/_usbmuxd
dscl localhost -create /Local/Default/Users/_usbmuxd generateduid FFFFEEEE-DDDD-CCCC-BBBB-AAAA000000D5
dscl localhost -create /Local/Default/Users/_usbmuxd gid 213
dscl localhost -create /Local/Default/Users/_usbmuxd home /var/db/lockdown
dscl localhost -create /Local/Default/Users/_usbmuxd name _usbmuxd
dscl localhost -create /Local/Default/Users/_usbmuxd passwd ‘\*’
dscl localhost -create /Local/Default/Users/_usbmuxd realname ‘iPhone OS Device Helper’
dscl localhost -create /Local/Default/Users/_usbmuxd shell /usr/bin/false
dscl localhost -create /Local/Default/Users/_usbmuxd uid 213

The item at
http://patrickgibson...such/000199.php

did fine to create a _usbmuxd group.
