Driver Drama

I, as well as others, have been watching this forum for an ATI driver for my 9600. I have read a lot, but not made a post until now...and it is to ask the following question:

Why must so many of you act so hostile towards developers like Omni and the nVidia guys?

Let me remind those of you who give them such a hard time, of a few things.

1. OSX86 was NOT intended to be run on PCs. You cannot expect it to be flawless.

2. Omni, and others, are doing this work for FREE. They have no obligation to you or anyone else to finish the project.

Show these guys some freaking appreciation! I'd be happy to paypal Omni, whether he finishes the driver or not, just out of appreciation.

Right. So why are you starting this thread again? Rhetorical question.

As has been said many, many times, these threads tend to be as flamey and unproductive as the threads you despise in your post.

Forum title:

Drivers

If you've made 'em or are working on 'em, fill us in.

Nuff said without being harsh. :)

Mash, why need to close any thread - a new one will be created

is not more easy to make moderators a few devs here for thread they open or for all section "drivers"

so they can just delete all post do not belong on that thread and keep it clean

also i think these guy's who don't get noone hint and keep bitching around shold be banned for good

by that my own opinion

We'll close all the threads that get out of hand.

What we're planning on doing is opening up a section called The Labs in which driver makers can have their own forum and their own ability to moderate. They can also choose who they would like to have help mod, if they so choose. We'll also have a blogging system set up so that they can keep us all up to date on their progress.

This will all be a part of our major forum innovations coming in July.

Actually, i guess you're the only one still insisting. Some policies and "way of doing things" on these forums are something that i will never understand, specially the behavior of some mods, plus, driver makers already have "their own forum".

Diego, I'd love to chat with you about things you think we could do better. The "their own forum" part is for those developers - not just of drivers, but of apps, etc - who need forum space and other assistance. That may not be everyone, but it is a need of quite a few.

Our mods team does a great job and I trust their judgement. If there is something that we can do better - or if someone thinks they'd like to assist in this manner - we're always open.

DiegoMax-

I'll try to hop on this weekend. I'm always open to constructive criticism - I'll be looking forward to hearing what you've got to say.

It's hard to manage a forum where so many people are wanting so much from so few people; it's not easy to make both the devs and users content with what we allow to be posted.

However, we're always up for changing things for the better. I'll talk with you soon. ;)
