Intel Mobo / Retail Install / Chameleon 2.0 / +2GB Ram / Kernel Panics

I've scoured these forums and can't seem to get around the kernel panics i recieve when I have more than 2GB of memory in my system. Most of what I've found on the forums is problems with GigaByte motherboards and with JMicron. I have an Intel D965WH motherboard so I don't think that applies to me.

Even if I have 8GB and set the maxmem=2048 upon boot it still will give a random kernel panic. I have to remove the 3 sticks of 2GB to have it stable...

Anyone have an Intel mobo and get around this problem?

Other solutions I've found are to turn on AHCI, I have it on already. Another one was to get rid of all IDE periphs, but I have none.. SATA hard drive and usb dvd drive.

And for some reason my bios says my memory speed is 800mhz but OSX always says it's 667mhz.. I'm not sure if they are related.

Thanks for the help.
