parallels works great, but for one thing. i can only surf google and google related sites.

google cached sites work

was able to download picasa from google

can use google earth

google news brings up the headlines, but i can't go to the sites

(i have actually clicked on two sites that worked, and could traverse

inside their sites just fine.

all this is happening at good broadband speeds.

i can PING other sites successfully.

in the parallels forums, there was ONE other person with the problem,

but no answers for him. dated the april 14th.

any ideas?

Had the same problem fix it using drtcp in windows and manual config in linux. Basically you have to change your mtu to 1400. In drtcp just select the box for mtu and enter 1400, press ok and then restart your computer your network will work fine. There is a guide for debian on how to change in linux (the guide works for other distros too).

Thanks, it helped me too! My only question is now why is my wireless Intel 2200 not detected or even able to be installed in XP under Parallels, only my ethernet internet? I know the 2200 is not supported at all even through hacks in OS X (I'm on a Hackintosh), but I was hoping that I could install Parallels and switch over to XP and get wireless supprt when I needed it. I think Parallels will only let the loaded XP recognize hardware the the already existing Mac OS X installation detects, hence the failure of wireless detection and capability... I'm just hoping that I'm wrong! Anybody know?
