Help for Amilo Pi1536

Hi everyone and happy easter.

I've got some problems with my girlfriend's laptop: I tried to install 10.5.5 (iDeneb 1.3) that works perfectly but the audio speakers (Amilo Pi1536, ICH7, Appleazalia).

I'm not sure on what AppleHDA have been made for, but do you think that it could be help me?

I did some tests using AppleHDA 1.2 with codec dumps found around the net without any result: i made my codec dump with knoppix too and used it (as Taruga's guide) but after this the OS doesn't find the sound card.

In every try I did, I seen that AppleHDA said succesful on SPDIF out but not succesful on the in port and speakers. In the last one (with my "homemade" codec dump) speakers have not been find.

Any ideas?

PS: Knoppix told me that the sound card is ALC880.

Hello,

I've got a Pi 1556, which is very close to yours. The new VoodooHDA wil work just fine except for jack detection and internal mic. I'll have to use SoundSource to choose Internal Speakers or Headphones each time you plug/unplug a jack.

If VoodooHDA doesn't please you, I can provide a working AppleHDA, but it makes a loud "BANG!" at each boot.

browse the hardware subforum, in the audio section, you'll find it. There is a compiled version there: http://forum.voodoop...s.org/index.php

To use it, install the kext with KextHelper (google it) and remove AppleHDA.kext, repair permissions etc and reboot.

I think you still need HDAEnabler or ALCInject. Google it, you'll find it. If it still doesn't work you can use a DSDT Patch (see fassl DSDT patcher topic). If you don't know how to use them, I may be able to explain.

And download and install SoundSource, a real time and life saver.
