Yes you have an ALC888, in fact you even got a different device ID! ;)
Try searching for an ALC888 driver on the forum, I think it already exists.

I've made a version with spdif RCA (coax) connection in "about this mac", I put it on post#1

iPhoneiac I think this can really solve that issue :D

Hi Marionez,

There is 3 kext in the zip file.
should I install the 3 ?

- choose and download kexts pack for ALC1200
- remove ALCinjector.kext AppleHDA.kext and his friends from /System/Library/Extension
- remove /System/Library/Extension.mkext (this step is not needed at all)
- unpack the zip file
- run kexthelper
- install kexts
- reboot

yes all 3 kexts ;)

I was considering a rear-mic/line-in (with no front mic) version, but maybe the 3 input version is better.

Hello!

This works for me with an Asus P5Q PRO.
Only with all startups I get all kind of Sounds Assertions messages, something like this(copied from other post):
[codebox]Apr 6 18:02:10 localhost kernel[0]: Sound assertion "0 != result" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-162.1.37/AppleHDA/AppleHDAPath.cpp" at line 1175 goto Exit

Does someone know how to fix it?

Greeting

The very strange thing is that I didn't have this log error 3-4 days ago! So I don't know what's going on.
I read on the forum that SMBIOSResolver could solve this, but I didn't find it...

I made a new version without the ALC1200fix.kext but I still have the error. I attach on post #1.

I made a slim version, with green rear output, front headphones, rear mic, line in and digital output.
It's on post #1
http://www.insanelym...p...st&id=48849

This cause less kernel log errors:
localhost kernel[0]: Sound assertion "0 == fExternalControlArray" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-162.1.37/AppleHDA/AppleHDAFunctionGroup.cpp" at line 767 goto Exit

Nice work, so much to deal with it!
Can you write, what is it new?

Only a few lines from SLIM!

You have a nice day!

Ok, about multichannel output I was wrong, read this: http://www.insanelym...showtopic=87336

At this point, I'm not really interested in a multichannel output, because I don't use and so I even have some difficult to test something like this.
I think I'll wait for 10.5.7 update then I'll see what happens

First of all i want to thank you for your great work, unfortunatly i have some problems with my P5Q Pro.

With the normal driver (your first choice) i get both Output (Front and Rear) Working, with your second choice driver i can only get the Front Out working, no matter what i set in the prefpane.
However, no matter which driver I use, i simply cant get the MIC to work at all, which is a really bummer :/

Hope you can help me.

When reinstalling i delete AppleHDA.kext and HDAEnabler.kext and reinstall the new ones with kexthelper. I then reboot and do a kextload HDAEnabler.kext to get sound Output working, with the problems described above however.

Did you remove ALC1200fix.kext?
I disabled front mic in slim version, but rear mic works (it's the pink input). If on your mobo even rear mic doesn't work (with the slim version) I think you've got an ALC1200 with a different codec dump. So should be useful if you produce one on your own and attach here.
On linux should be something like:
cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 > codec.txt

Tested again with garage band, rear mic works with slim version.

hi there.

Okay, the rear out not working was due to me plugging into the wrong input
The mic also works, but its very very silent...anything like mic boost on osx ?

thx for your help

*edit*
Okay, got the mic now working too. Was a problem with the mic input volume...it changes itself while speaking though, but i think only when being in prefpane.
