Xion100
Hi guys, how are you doing? I'll start this topic saying first that i'm ITALIAN, so unless you're actually italian too this item will have to be shipped (but i don't think this is a big deal afterall). These are the specs of this wonderful notebook: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T8300 (2,40 GHz, FSB 800 MHz, cache L2 3 MB) 4gb DDR2 sdram nVidia GeForce 8600m GT with 256mb 320gb HD 5400rpm These are the general specs. Now, this notebook comes with an extended THREE YEARS xps premium warranty of which 2 and a half still available. I installed MAC OS X LEOPARD 10.5.6 on this notebook: CPU, ram, vga, hd...everything's working PERFECTLY. I also got two finger scroll working, webcam works as a usb webcam, sd card reader works as well as the usb ports. The only PROBLEMS are: Shutdown/restart don't work: the computer screen turns off, the data is saved but you need to manually press the button to turn the power off. Sleep only works with power cabla plugged in, no idea why. Wi-Fi doesn't work but i have oredered a dell truemobile card which should work out of the box as an airport card and i would obviously install it for the buyer. The notebook has only one physical problem: on the right side there is the small Dell remote controller (which btw works under mac). This thing is inserted into a slot but the spring is broken so you have to take it out with your hands insted of pressing it (but it's not big deal). I'll make pics ASAP and a video showing mac working. I've also installed vista, bootloader is the Chameleon 2.0 release. I'm asking for 800 euro. Thanks! projekt k
i hope you are sending original back up cd's too, because that warranty wont mean {censored} without that or at least an XP install disc. Dell has the right to void warranty if you are doing legit illegal activity to the pc. We had someone buy a laptop at Guitar Center with the 2 year extended from Guitar Center. GC sells dells if you didnt know. They came back and said their {censored} was {censored}ed, we found all the software they installed was from torrents so we called the warranty company and they voided it with no refund. Also for 800, i'd rather buy something brand new, if it were me I wouldn't drop more than 400 on it. Now if you include OSX disc and it's up to date maybe just maybe you can add a 200 for disc and installation. But seriously up your sell, rehash the hell out of it. What's installed on it? Do we get legit cracked Logic, maybe Photoshop, you need to give them a reason to drop 800 on you. and i have had bad experience with newer laptops, the PowerBook G4 seems to be better than my core 2 duo laptop with 4 gigs of ram. I think newer laptops arent as powerful for longer battery life. i dont know.

Mods please close this topic, i won't sell the laptop anymore (not kidding, please close it)
david.hoyt
Who buys a computer at Guitar Center? That just sounds retarded... Anyways, that sounds like a great setup for pretty cheap! I'd buy it if I had the cash =(

I'd buy it if I had the cash =( Well when you want a amateur music studio and want the software and hardware in one store. It actually ends up being convenient and smart. People come into the store asking for the best music hardware. A lot think that windoze is the best and the reps at the store tell them the contrary. Doesn't sound Retarded to me, actually it is smart, for the consumer and Guitar Center. Just so you know Guitar Center doesn't just sell guitars, that is only 50% of the store floor footprint.
