crypto55
Have any of you ever had any problems with Apple Tech Support giving you trouble with fixing or replacing a mac product, either while under warranty or not? Have they ever made it difficult for you or anyone you know to get a product that you that should have been replaced, replaced? If so, let us know. denied
My GF has a MB Pro, AppleCare has been sitting on it longer than she's had it. Really sad, sent it in because the latch was bad (only one half of it worked, so the lid was crooked when closed), and now every time it comes back something else is wrong--first the display wasn't working (they probably forgot to plug it in), then last time it wouldn't even boot--not even to the apple logo, just a black screen. Don't know what they replaced but it took the better part of a month. She's finally got it back but it's still not right, they didn't put the case back together correctly so the seams don't line up on the front and edges, and it's got a new dent in the lid (ugh). Every trip in is another three-week wait, she decided to just live with it until exams are over. This is HW revision C, and now it's starting to whine (from the LCD inverter), time for another trip back. In short, we're pretty cheesed at AppleCare right now. Awesome computer, and I've had OK luck with AC in the past but they're really dropping the ball on this one. $.02 dep
Colonel
I got my iMac G5 fixed after it had overheating problems. It took them two days to fix it. It only took that long because the Apple guy wasn't going to be there until them. I'm not quite sure what they did to my iMac, but it's working better now. The fans still get really loud, but he said that happens with the G5s. But, I really thought I got my moneys worth from Applecare and getting my iMac fixed. A Nonny Moose
My G3 iMac's hard drive died and I took it to an authorized repair shop. AppleCare paid for the replacement HD and the labor involved
