I have had my powerbook G4 for 3 yrs. It came with 512 memory and 80 gb hard drive. It crashed and I didn't have a back up. Crazy I know. I will never do that again. The only thing I had backed up are all my pictures to cd. So here I am starting over.

I bought a 250 gb hard drive and installed. I just wanted to get up and running and didn't think about partitioning (never done it) or anything about my software. Now I'm stuck with 1 partition on Tiger with no iphoto or idvd. I read I need panther or my powerbook software. I tried to find a bundle software pack but can't find it for free.

I guess I have to start over Again. Go back to panther to get these package and then update to Tiger. Right??

I figured if I have to do this, should I partition, since I do take lots of pictures. This is how I use my mac, or should I say used it before the crash.......

I used the internet quite a bit.

iphoto had about 11,000 photo's and would love to have an even bigger library of pics.

itunes had about 1000 songs.

What kind of a strategy would you recommend?????? I would love to have some options and figure this out, and not regret down the line I didn't partition the right way.

what do you do with all the files or programs that you download. the zip file then the .dmg?????

what about Pacifist?? Or should I start over and partition?????

Thanks for any help. Anything.........................
