Roal2488
hi guys! I was wondering if someone has tried connecting your hackintosh via s-video to a TV. I have tried without any luck. I think the port is not detected cause i doesnt cause a kernel panic or anything, the tv screen does not even blink. I think there was a way of making this work for gma 950. I am going to do some more research on this matter. So for now, has anyone made this connection succesfully? Thanks!

Roal2488
Not yet possible, and probably won't be for a while. Currently the MacBooks* Do not have a s-video output. Sorry. Hi! I see. I was thinking maybe it was a kext like the Nvcap.kext that i understand it the one that decodes the video and send it to the outputs. So i thought maybe that by editing some kexts we could make it work. I was thinking maybe the appleintelgmaX3100FB.kext was a key but i just dont know how to start. Maybe someone who developed the solution for Nvidia Cards could help. Regards

nitzdman
I too have a x3100. I have had a great time mixing the right FB with the 10.5.1,2,4, kext http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/style_emo...olleyes.gif,but not 5+ . after doing the logic on how to even get it to work, it made me realize with reading old archives of this site (archive.org) and google caches. I would think this place should have a torrented version by version kext listings. Ajax into the blog so people can drag and drop, and there wouldn't be any server space needed. it could be peer based. I needed a certian group of kexts for the 000c version. I can attach mine if you want. it is from origionally from a 10.5.2 leo4all disc I believe, but keeping the kexts (X3100 + the X3100FB) I read somewhere that you could add a paragraph of code within the kext, and using windows, find out what EXACT video port the device id on the Svideo Specifically. as I recall, (kinda fuzzy)I read You MAY be able to dupe another port with some code copy and paste inside the kext. and add it as another device. the FB might have the basic code in it already because the default resoultion for the driver to even getting the right resoultion to work into the x3100 kext and not the frame buffer. My Powerbook G3 bronze has a Svideo port on it, (PPC of course)(10.3 was max) but I slammed 10.4 in it, and its kexts read the port, (of course its ATI, and PPC) but, I believe since this is object programming, it should be pretty easy to do some kext compairson between the rage128 (what I have) that has VGA out, Svideo out, and Such. Maybe even have something as a cloned dependancy to pick up the port. Does Darwin Linux have any input with Svideo with this video card? It could also give us a clue. the other is NEXT. I found a NEXT iso floating around. I figured I would toss that Idea out for all those book worms. Are they the code used for drivers in OSX? Darwin has close, but significant differences. Linux is still another ball park yet, but again, we get a clue. Displays working for Newbies: Here's my x3100 and FB kexts for those out there. Best is to have none first and use the -x switch to get around, then install SwitchResX from the web (or pre download it), Add a custom resolution cloning the 1024 and then type 1280x800 as a resolution, and then making sure the other numbers reset themselves to the new size, add then making current config Active 1280, 800 Front Porch 64, 3 Sync Width 128, 7 Back Porch 192, 20 scan Rate 47.77 57.561 . I clicked the positive sync on the right, and have the pixel clock at I Heard you could put in the darwin prompt, in the boot flags put "Display Mode"="1200x800x32@60" btw, anyone know of a freeware alt of SRX?
