timski2006 Posted March 22, 2009 Share Posted March 22, 2009 hi there i have been using my build of x86 10.5.6 for a while now its the IPC v5 distro harware: Mobo: asus AV8 Deluxe skt 939 CPU: AMD64 4000+ 2.4 Ghz skt 939 Ram 3 x i gig ddr 400MHZ PC3200 Geil ram GFX: gforce 6200 Chipset: via Hdd: Maxtor 320 gig sata anyhow i have been using the borad on 2 gig of ram for ages and i have just put the other 1 gig in and i thought that the distro would just update with 3 gig of ram etc but alas thus i not the case my board has 4 bays supporting up to 4 gig of ram... the bios sees the ram on boot up and applications like "check up" see it but the when i go to apple about this mac is no showing there or in the system profiler.. madness it only shows the 2 banks there and not the 4.... will a fresh install put the right ammount of ram there or is there a way to edit one of the plist files to correct this?? any help much appriciated thanks :-) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
