I got the intel gma 950 to work perfectly with my laptop and it even works with an external monitor.

The only problem is that when i edit text, i.e. office mac or even renaming a file, the mouse duplicates itself and there are small blocks randomly on the screen.

I dont know if these are called artifacts or mouse tearings, but how do i fix them?

I'm having the same problem. Many other people seem to say that they have the Intel GMA 950 working perfectly using 10.5.6 without any artifacts or mouse tearing. However, I'm running iPC 10.5.6 as well, but I'm still getting mouse tearing.

I'm using a Thinkpad x60 Tablet with Intel 945GM graphics. The device id is 0x27a2.

An FAILED attempt follows:

Ok, so based on experience, I know that an old version of AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext will lead to mouse tearing. So I checked my extensions directory and it turns out that iPC automatically replaced the 10.5.6 kext with an old one. Unaware of why they did that, I went ahead and restored the original 10.5.6 kext, but rebooted only to find out that I now have the infamous "Blue Screen" error. Putting the old kext back into place (using the install dvd) does not fix the blue screen. Neither does booting into safe mode. I made sure to fix the permissions every time I manipulated the kexts.

Time for a reinstall...

UPDATE:

I fixed it by manually deleting /var/db/dyld files. Back to square 1.
