VMware Boot Problems

Let me start by saying I have never used VMware before. I was looking for a way to install Mac on my Windows Vista rig and while surfing Demonoid i found a promising torrent. It was a VMware OS X image and according to the comments, it worked. I downloaded it and VMware and followed the instructions (VMware is pretty sick!). Now the OS boots past the Darwin screen and gets to the grey Apple logo with the loading circle but just hangs there and never actually boots up. I have also ran in verbose mode and I get long crash error codes over and over until i powerdown. I have also downloaded what i thought was a Mac .ISO but its a .DMG and i cant get it to load or burn on a bootable disc. Anyone have any ideas? What would be easier to install? I would love to have Mac on my PC....
