TCPMeta
Silverlight is telling on me to netflix that I do not have a legit mac. I get the DRM error 8151. The only thing I can think of is it see's my system as a MacPro with a Intel Core Solo. Is there a way to make the system think it's a core duo or xeon? I'd really rather not install XP just so I can watch movies. Does anyone know of a workaround? I'm running the Voodoo Kernel from the XxX final 10.5.6 build on an Acer Aspire One A150. Tried some of the suggestions with no luck. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=134517 Looks like it may be something with the UUID

dcuellar
It didn't work for me Ah well, guess it's back to Hulu. Thanks anyway. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=185123 This is what did it for me. The below is what I did. For those how want netflix "watch now" featureyou'll notice it is not working in the current setup following my guide You get DRM error All that is needed to do (thanks to the chameleon RC2 and RC3) add the follwing line to your boot.plist: <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string>
fiz
None of this worked for me. There are the things I've done: - My network card is set to en0 - i have the ethernetbuiltin key set to Yes in my com.apple.Boot.plist - SMBIOS reports that i have a core 2 duo and such like a real mac - I have modified the silverlight installer and I still get the 8151 error in both firefox and safari both spit that error out. Has anybody found another trick I could try? I would like to point out that this error in this thread is for 8151 not 8152. 8152 seems to be some individualization problem and what I've notice is the 2 errors get mixed up and are really totally different. So any information on 8151 which is the could not play drm content error is what is needed in this thread PLEASE

Has anybody found another trick I could try? Ditto on the above, I have all of those things with no luck yet. I did notice on http://code.google.com/p/xnu-dev/issues/de...Owner%20Summary they say you can: For you guys experiencing the problem, disable the custom dyld at startup (if you'reable to with your CPU; probably not a good idea on AMD CPU's) - it gets used when it shouldn't on some CPU's. The devs are aware of that issue, too. To do that, boot your kernel with std_dyld=1 (add to com.apple.Boot.plist to make persistent, for those not in the know). I tried downgrading to voodoo beta 2c but it wouldn't boot through. I have an AMD 5600+, so I don't think I'm going to try the dyld=1...I guess I'm waiting for voodoo to fix the problem. They recommend downgrading in their FAQ: http://code.google.com/p/xnu-dev/wiki/FAQ Anyone else get past error 8151?
tinthere
To follow up, I upgraded from 10.5.8 (w/ voodoo+qoopz kernel) to 10.6.2 using an interim IDE drive (I installed on the extra drive, made sure everything worked, then installed on my primary disk). Netflix is working perfectly in 10.6.2 using modbin's test7 kernel.
dcuellar
Weird. I had to reinstall OSX from scratch and ran into this problem again. I followed all of the steps I posted above and still got the error. I then realized my audio card was not working yet because I forgot to install the voodoo kext. After installing that, my netflix started to work. Hmm....weird. Could it be that those who are still experiencing problems are going through them because of the audio card? How did you fix the audio card? I would like to not have to reinstall because for lack of a better word I'm kinda dumb on this and am not sure how I got my hack working right in the 1st place. It sounds ridiculous, I know this

fiftytimes
Just did a reinstall(hdd went bad).I decided to update to Chameleon RC4 from Chameleon RC3, via the myhack update, and the NETFLIX DRM error is now mysteriously a non issue. NOTE: I use HEX Strings to get My graphics cards working(gtx 280's). This time around I combined both the Strings for the graphics cards and my on board Ethernet adapters and added it to my com.apple.boot.plist conf file. Im not entirely certain if this is what did the trick or if it was the former( Chameleon update), either way the problem is gone and Netflix is working. Im running Snow 10.6.4.
