I have a C-media codec (it's an MSI motherboard with and IntelHDA audio card built in). I booted off my Knoppix cd, dumped the codec#0 (text file attached. I made sure it's saved with Unix line endings (open in vi, :set fileformat=unix, then wq! to save). I dragged it on to the patcher (AppleHDAPatcherv1.20) and it reports "* Detected unsupported C-Media Codec". I'm running 10.5.6.

The audio works, but there is no volume control. When I go into System Profiler and inspect the audio, it tells me that there is no audio card. How can I patch the kext manually? I've searched but I can't find any docs on that.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
