First of all, thank you all for contributing to this blog and helping people like myself. I've spent hours searching around, and all the posts have gotten me to an almost complete install (minus the audio)!

If you can help me with my final problem, I'd be very appreciative.

Here's my situation, I've exported the working device settings from my XP install, and have this:

----
Sigmatel 92xx?
[size="2"]sigmatel Location 65535 (internal high definition audio) (I can use optical or 5.1)
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7618&SUBSYS_10280215&REV_1002\4&26E0D281&0&0001

file version

5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-2108)

----

I've tried kext helper and azalia audio, as well as apple hda patcher. I've tried every sigmatel driver on the apple hda patcher site. The following kexts indicated through the hda patcher that an output was recognized (but I never heard the audio after the reboot). Here are the supposedly good drivers:

SigmaTel_STAC7661_0.kext
STAC9227_83847618.kext
Sigmatel9221.txt
STAC9221D.kext
STAC9223CodecDump.txt

Again, I tried installing them all, but they didn't work. And, it's not because my audio power was off or anything, becauase the audio plays fine through XP.

Does anyone have any ideas? I would really appreciate it!

Thanks Guys!
- BB

Still not working, but I have more information, and a few suspicions.

1. Do I need to be running the AppleHDAPatcher or other apps in native mode? (If so, how do I get to native mode?)

2. It seemed like other posts have people saying "10.4.3 AppleHDA.kext" works. I haven't been able to try it because I can't find it... but if anyone thinks it would help me and can send it (or a link), I'd really appreciate it!

3. I've recorded some of the AppleHDAPatcher feedback texts:

I have what I believe to be the same issue you have. I have an Intel PM965 board on a Vaio VGN-FZ290.
I'm searching for a linux codec for a Sigmatel 9205.
I'll let you know if it goes well.
