alvin777
Hi. How are you all? The iPhone is a great gadget and is an essential part of most people's lifestyle. I'd like to play my iPhone guitar app louder without adding any more gadgets in my room (it's filled with stuff already and I don't have the budget yet for a docked external speakers). Is there a way to get the sound of the iPhone 3G to the desktop speaker (mono, stereo or better yet 5.1) using the supplied USB cable or through software using wifi? Is it even capable of surround sound output? Will the jack of my desktop speakers work with the iPhone? Recommendations are welcome. Thanks in advance. Gbu. Synaesthesia
You can connect to the earphone jack to get stereo, that's about it.
Berzerker
Your best bet is to use it to connect to a speaker set, then output using Dolby Digital Pro Logic II, which emulates surround sound from stereo input.
InEnglishPlease
Yeah, exactly right Berzerker. only emulating surround through stereo source. the entire mixing process of the audio is different too. i use a dvd player that has 5.1 speaker output, but it has a dock for my 3g phone. surprising enough, it even charges it too. and skipping tracks with the remote is sexy. now if i could only get my car stereo to charge too
