suleiman
That is positively the most amazing demonstration I have ever seen of GUI. It looks like something out of Minority Report...wow...i'm truly gobsmacked.
INFNITE
note: this is NOT made by Apple, although Apple recently patented a similar idea for a tablet style computer.

Cyman
I really would like to know who is referring this to Apple? I saw this weeks ago and noone even mentioned this was an Apple invention. Funny to see how things develop.

bluedragon1971
The technology could very well be from Apple, as it is simply a logical extension of the touchpads that are on their newer laptops. For those that don't know, you can use multiple fingers on the touchpads for different functions. From http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/design.html Scrolling TrackpadMacBook Pro can tell if you’ve got one finger on the pedal, or two. With two, you can easily scroll around your documents or open contextual menus. And it’s easier now, thanks to a larger trackpad.

bluedragon1971
their homepage http://mrl.nyu.edu/~jhan/ftirtouch/ with a better video than that grainy google {censored}. It's the same video, it's just enlarged on Google since their player adapts to your screen resolution. If you resize the Google window to a smaller size, the video loses the graininess. YOU MUST SEE THAT http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6379146923853181774 Bill Gates came to Columbia University earlier this school year, maybe at the end of 05. He demontrated something like this that microsoft is developing. But instead of touch it uses a camera. He demontrated by bring his cell phone next to the computer (this logged him in). Then he was able to just move his hands around and control things like this, and even put a normal business card under the camera and it automatically inputted into his address book. But a multi touch is neater since you can see the screen directly under your fingers whereas microsofts you have to look at another screen. oh found the link: http://www.microsoft.com/winme/0510/25715/...college_mbr.asx
