eezee1024
Hello People, After alot of tries i now ask for help on my problem: I tried to install iPC 10.5.6 on my Thinkpad T61 (8895-WFJ) C2D T9300 2.5GHz 4GB of RAM Video is GMA X3100 (2a02, Rev 000c) 14.1" 4:3 1400x1050x32 Display Installation works but when system restarts after that i just see a black screen,. no mouse or windows. The system seems to work in the background, i can press ALT+Q and Return and the system shuts down so i assume the initial configuration dialog is running. I have reset the bios to default values as descibed in some guides, used startup parameters (-x, -v, -c, -f and maxmem=2048) in different combinations. Nothing helps. I also installed a clean system without any drivers (just the necessary PS/2 mouse fix) but same result: black screen. I got the system working some time (but only ONE time -.-) and i had the native resolution with no QE/CI. After the next reboot i also had black screen and i wasnt able to reproduce the (one time) working setup. Does anybody have a helpful hint for me? Do i need some driver or change settings? GimmeRed
You will need to get the Appleintelx3100.kext removed along with the rest of the x3100FB ect. The easy way to do this if you have XP or Vista on the laptop is with Macdrive. You can open your Mac partition and your system/library/extenion folder and delete them. You can do it through terminal commands too if you know how but I'm not the guy to help you there. If you go to the hardware and drivers section here there is a link to the .kext that seems to work for 10.5.6. You will need to setup the sleep display app or a hot corner to get it working after booting.
eezee1024
Thanks for this hint. I just mv-ed all the AppleIntelGMAX3100* kexts to a backup folder and can boot up into 1024x768 mode. Hope the driver you mentioned works And more important: Hope i find it in drivers section Greetings eeZee
