carvolution Posted February 20, 2009 Share Posted February 20, 2009 Right, this seams to be the best forum to ask people a stupid question!! I have a hp dv6680ea laptop and i had massive problems install osx, but these have nearly all been resolved by changing dist packages. I am now using Kalyway 10.5.5 and all is now working. except the usual problem with the intel 3495abg card not working. I have changed this to a different pci-e card and the chip set is supported RALINK card. But now after changing the cards over, the same thing happends, I install drivers and still card does not show up on osx! I have even formatted the drive and reinstalled the dist and still nothing. Its like there is no card in the machine! Am I just missing something being that I am new to the mac sceen? Is there a setting somewhere in the software that turns on the software to allow the mac to look for the wifi card??? I have looked in system pref's - network - and there is only eathernet, firewire and bluetooth there and if I try to add a device, it only lets me choose any of the three above??
