It looks like some have trouble with sound but get sound cards that bypass the sound problems. I believe I have also read where others have had problems with the initial install as an ethernet cards was not installed. And some have reported FW problems without a card. With the UD4P board I have ordered, can anyone please comment as to what if any added cards I should get to run this new system? I have a saffire focusright DSP (Sound) processor that works through FW. I am assuming this should work all right for my recording music (just a songwriter so not a really huge deal) Are there sound cards though that would allow me to do "normal" sound tasks like listen to live streaming radio? I use an ALPHA WiFi unit that is USB and runs on a REALTEK WLAN utility already. I am thinking this should take care of my WIFI needs. Any thoughts on this? Are there simple FW cards or ethernet cards that I really should get now to make this transition as easy and as complete as possible? Those cards should be pretty cheap and might make for wise insurance towards set up glitches. Right now I am crossing my fingers as most of the conversation on these pages suggest that set up should be pretty straightforward with what I already have ordered.
