Remove keywords from multiple files?

Hello all,

I recently got alot of movies from a morale drive while I was deployed and with that, some of them (maybe ~100 or so) have different keywords (torrent, dvdrip, *year they were made*, etc) in their title I would like to delete. Is there anyway to make an automator or script that would delete out keywords in the title and either I put the keyword in prior to running the script or even nicer it would prompt me for said keywords? I've been slowly going through and cleaning the files, but if there is a faster, easier, better way then I am all ears (or eyes?). Thanks for your time.

Thanks, but I'm not looking for the normal batch renamer. More of a specific batch keyword remover. Something that goes through each filename and removes a keyword that the user specifies. This is for leopard BTW, I only have my MPB and an old pc running linux.

Give Name Mangler a try you just need to drag and drop the files onto it specify which string you want replaced with nothing then save the changed file names. If you know the keywords are the same all the time then you can create what are called droplets which allow you to drag and drop files onto without opening the program to have things like spaces, special characters, patterns ... removed from the name(s) automatically.

MacUser2525: You're the man / woman! This is exactly what I was looking for / needed. This will definitely make things alot smoother and easier. Thanks again!

Your welcome I thought it would do the trick I use it all the time for removing the junk from file names hell of a nice little program. One little quirk I noticed if you have the main program opened when dropping files on a droplet it will open them in its window where you need to do a manual rename save so make sure you have it closed if you want automatic renaming. Oh a man BTW..
