Getting a VMware image to a disk with "dd"

I went through the rigamarole of getting osx86 into a VMware virtual machine, and it works alright. I did all the patching, hacking, and messing that needed to be done to get it to work on a SSE2 CPU, and everything.

How can I use "dd" ( windows or linux, I have access to both ) to get the vmware image onto my harddrive so it can be run native? I've read of several people doing it in the wiki. Is there another program I can use if not dd?

I've Googled this several times, and can't find anything useful.

Any help would be great.
