S-Video out with GMA 950 on Intel Atom-based D945GCLF motherboard

hey y'all...

this site is great and so far I have been able to solve all problems concerning my OSx86-installation by browsing the forums. you people are doing a fine job...

but now I've encountered something I can't fix myself:

I'm running iAtkos 5i (10.5.5) on an Intel Atom-based D945GCLF2 motherboard and so far everything works (VGA-out, sound, LAN).

My main machine is a fully loaded last-generation Macbook but I also wanted a small frontrow Media Center that I could connect to my Grundig M-72 tube-TV (PAL, I'm in Germany).

I'm trying to connect the TV to the D945GCLF's S-Video out in addition to a VGA-screen but I just can't get it to work.

I installed XP Pro on a second drive just to check whether the cable and setup are o.k. and mirroring works without hassle.

now, I can't find much on the forum or someplace else on the net on that topic, so I ask you, if someone has come up with a fix...

the problem is, that the screen settings panel doesn't even recognize the attached TV (I also Tried SwitchResX to no avail), on my old Titanium Powerbook, I just had to hit "detect screens" and it worked... no sucess here.

Any suggestions, drivers etc are welcome (before I buy a 50 bucks external adapter box.., that will only be the absolute last resort).

thank you

Not working here: VGA works for me as it does you, but if I try S-Video it simply makes the screen go berserk and the only way to fix it is to do a hard reboot. I've searched for this many times to no avail, hope you have luck. And if you do, be sure to share with the rest of us... good luck

S-Video worked on my 10.5.6 rig using only the original kexts. Problem is you can't change resolution and Screen Sharing causes a kernel panic.

I'm still looking for a solution...

might try the dsdt method to fix the gma950 to work with the orgional kexts, works great on my rig but i dont have the svideo out to try it

Hi I have a D945GCLF2 that I got specifically for use with the svideo out. Well it only works on Windows XP. I tried on UBUNTU and it gets a scrolling display (google it for the posting somewhere else). Already contacted intel itself and the answer was "yes it is a know issue, and we are working on it".

Well, right now I'm also running it under XP which kind of sucks... I might try out the Boxee Alpha for Windows this weekend though...
