iAcid
Ok, so I have the .dmg files for the CD version of 10.4 and a .toast of the DVD version. I just bought this eMac for cheap from eBay as a replacement to my old MacBook which is beyond broken now, specs are 800MHz PPC G4, ATi 9200 (I think) graphics, 640MB RAM, 10.3.9 and a Sony DRU-190A CD/DVD drive. It didn't originally come with this disk drive, I just changed it yesterday. So, This is the only Mac I have, my PC is right next to it. I tried burning these .dmgs with Nero and Mac Drive to CD-Rs, nothing. I think the ones burned in Nero loaded the .dmg automatically in OS X but when it comes to booting the disk drive just ejects and the Mac goes into Panther. So, any solution would be hugely appreciated as I'm determined to get this machine off Panther as using old apps is annoying the life out of me. Thanks. SticMAC™
Hey it's up to you! You could PM me if like, I'm just trying to help, as I went through this whole exercise when I bought my first iMac and later with my eMac! Fortunately I had a Hackintosh and I could take the iMac's/eMac's drive out to do the installation via an IDE to USB adaptor! If you'd feel more comfortable, maybe you have, like here in Switzerland, a service where you could collect it from your local Post Office? No sweat!
