im making an attempt to build a cheap, stable, and powerful hackintosh. i have both the iatkos 5i 10.5.5 and kalyway 10.5.2 amd/intel discs downloaded. when i try to boot to either it comes up with the error "unable to convert memory map into proper format". any ideas? i can also download that ipc disc if needed.

specs:

intel core 2 quad q9300 2.5ghz info

biostar G31-M7 OC socket 755 info

corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 2x2gb (4gb) info

pny geforce 9500gt 512mb info

or asus geforce 6600gt 256mb to get the above working

or even the integrated intel GMA 3100 256mb

sata and ide hd mix to about 1tb

600watt psu and shmancy case

all a couple hundred dollars

I feel your pain. We have nearly the same setup...only difference is our power sources. I get the same errors regardless of bios twiddling.

If anyone has an idea please email me.

the error "unable to convert memory map into proper format".

Try to swith "ACPI version" parameter in BIOS Power-setting page from "3(optimal default)" to "2 or 1" then the problem will gone.

(G31-M7G has that parameter, I hope your board has one.)

I am still stucking with other problem described in this thread.
