Hi there !

I just bought a Netgear WNDA3100 USB WiFi 802.11n Adaptor and had to recognize, that obviously there's no working driver available. Funnily enough on the Atheros Website they say, that OS X is supported (OS Support: ... MAC OSX) http://www.atheros.com/pt/bulletins/AR9001USBBulletin.pdf

1. Do you think there's any hope for a driver to come out ?

2. Or are there some other working 802.11n 5 GHz USB/PCI solutions available ? (didn't found an alternative yet)

Before that I was using a D-Link DWA-547; it was working pretty good but very slow ( only 2 MB/s; as fast as my former 802.11g Network). Turning on the 5 GHz Mode in the iMac doubled the data-rate, so I guess this could happen to with my Hackintosh ;)

thanks ! :D

On netgears site, they said they do not "officially" support Mac OS X, however all of their Wireless-N products will work with the OrangeWare driver

I haven't tried it but i plan to as I have the Netgear Wireless-N USB which supposadly by this website is said to support. The only thing that netgears FAQ says is that the speeds are slower then expected due to the lack of an internal caching mechanism not being supported by the driver.

OrangeWare is PowerPC only; not Intel compatible.

Not going to help anyone:

Does your Wireless Driver for Mac support USB adapters?

No. We do not have any plans to support USB adapters.

Is your Wireless Driver supported under Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)?

We do not support Mac OS X 10.5 and are not planning an upgrade.

Not likely

Definitely. Go check the HCL wiki.

If you want real native 802.11n 2.4/5ghz support, I'd check into an MP2W adapter card and an original Apple BCM94322MC/BCM94321MC mini PCIe card pulled from a Macbook.
