iMacG6 Posted April 11, 2006 Share Posted April 11, 2006 Has anyone seen this Sunday's CompUSA newspaper ad? On the front page is a picture of an HP Pavilion Notebook (eww) going for $799. I was looking at the computer, and I noticed that it was running OS X! I'm assuming that the picture is photoshopped, since the apple is missing on the top left corner, and a few other minor details. If it really is photoshopped, isn't that false advertisement? I know CompUSA is one of Apple's main authorized resellers, but i don't know what happened in the ad. If it really is running OS X on it, its definitely not running it legally, unless Apple released something no one knows about.... I just wanted to point that out, and sorry if I posted this in the wrong section... I just registered, but I've been using OS X86 for about a month now and its uber awesome and I'm happy to say I'm going to get a Macbook Pro (finally) next month ;D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ouch Posted April 15, 2006 Share Posted April 15, 2006 This is a fairly normal occurance - usually the person creating the ads is not technical and frequently screen shots their own machine to paste them onto the photos of the hardware. Hee hee. seriously though, what version of ITunes is that? 0.1.. (still a crappy program anyways) and WHO THE HELL USES IE on a Mac? Even windows users (those with an ounce of intelligence.. not too many of those ) use Firefox. Oh and.. WHY RUN PANTHER? Tiger is faster, and has more features..
