nesman
Well I bought Arctic Thermal Compound 5 today to lower my CPU temperature. Right now I'm using the stock cooler that came with the Q6600. However, when I look at SpeedFan it shows that my GPU is at high 70s and my CPU gets up to high 60s - 70C. Is SpeedFan accurate and if it was, would this be a bad temperature for my CPU? So far it hasn't been crashing or slowing down, just when playing Crysis it jumps up to this temperature. When its idle it stays around 40C. sorry had the specs in my signature: Processor: Q6600 GPU: 9800 GT -evGA 4GB of RAM 500GB harddrive 450W PSU 21 AMPS on +12V rail etc
aed0101
What´s your cpu and gpu cooler?
vbetts
Considering both are under heavy load like that, and both are stock, it's completely average for them to go that high. 70 c is nothing compared to ATI cards though, hell I would kill if my card stayed under 80c under heavy load. The only time I would be worried, is if the cpu went above 90c.
nesman
Oh I see. It makes sense. It hasn't been slowing down at all..I just got a little worried. Both the CPU and GPU are using stock coolers.
