Hello,

I have a Dell M4400 with iDeneb 1.5.5, my video card (a Quadro FX1770M equivalent to 9600M GT) is working quite well, the only problem is when I run a fullscreen app (for example fullscreen youtube playing) under the LCD native resolution of 1920x1200x60Hz, with that settings the screen flickers badly. If I use a lower resolution or select 40Hz vertical refresh rate at 1920x1200 the flicker dissapears. Any kind of option for vertical sync or something similar for Quartz??

Regards

60 or less Hz = flicker, but what is weird is that normally LCD don't flicker

I also setup a Precision 4400 for a friend but he normally does not use External Display and his LCD is 1280x800 or 1440x900 but certainly not 1920x1200

Well, the 1920x1200 is the native LCD resolution of the laptop display. I have found that at 40Hz I have some kind of "real" flicker (the same flicker we had with under 60Hz in CRTs), I mean, if I choose a complex background I can appreciate small flicker everywhere. When I choose 60Hz this kind of "real" flicker disappears, but the fullscreen "flicker effect" appears. Is not flicker as it used to be with CRT monitors, is more like the problems you have in old FPS games when you have not vblank sync active. Is some kind of redraw issue.

Fantastic! Going to sleep solve the problem! And they say computer "science" :-D, anyway really happy now, If I only get my bluetooth Dell 370 and Alps touchpad working my Dell M400 will be the best mac :-)

The refresh rate appears as an option when selecting display modes, I get two 1920x1200 one with 60Hz refresh and the other with 40Hz.
