I have a sony vaio vgn-cr220e and when i start up my computer and select OS X, the screen goes to apple then it brightens to white and fades to black and stays stuck at the black screen. How do i fix this? I downloaded paulicat's kext but i cant extract all of it without error and i do not have any idea what to do with the non extracted file, or where to put it. Any idea what to do guys? thanks for the help a lot

you need leo4all v2 or v3.

download that, install it. (in customize, choose ichx, azaliaaudio and that should be it. dont mess with graphics or other kernels) it should boot fine on your vaio (i have the same model)

however, if there are any problems with the weird white screen, press f8 at boot and type

-s

# mount -uw /

# cd /System/Library/Extensions

# rm -rf AppleIntelGMA*

# rm -rf AppleIntelIn*.kext

all should be well.

you can update to 10.5.3 via kalyway combo update (follow the instructions; you dont have to choose any kernels but i chose vanilla_kernel_9.3), if there are probs, which probably will occur, repeat same thing above at boot f8

after that, you can update to 10.5.4 via apple software update (download it) it should work fine.

for 10.5.5 and above, i haven't started on trying it yet.

for the monitor, download switchresx for right resolutions

for audio, check for drivers/kexts

hope this helps. i got this info from going thru insanelymac and it worked for me.

btw the motioneye camera doesnt work as of now, and if you want to tap the touchpad to click, you would have to do that in system preferences (keyboard & mouse) on your newly installed hackintosh. good luck.
