thestevo
Hello Everyone, Sun has a new version of VirtualBox out (2.1) that includes a number of new features, including experimental OpenGL hardware acceleration. However, one thing that I noticed in the changelog is this... Support for hardware virtualization (VT-x and AMD-V) on Mac OS X hosts Interesting that they would reference AMD-V when talking about OS X host features, though it may just be a 'typo'. Regardless, this new version is a step toward par with Parallels and Fusion. theStevo
Konami®
It could be related to virtualized Windows and the AMD-V processor. Does not have anything to do with Hackintosh in any way.
thestevo
Uh, yeah... I referenced the fact that it may have been a typo since virtualization technology is usually referenced in Windows terms. However, it talks about Mac OS X hosts and references AMD-V, which isn't a needed reference. Probably not meant to imply AMD running OS X, but that's what's written. Which implies Hackintosh. socal swimmer
hmm. It seems to work fairly well on my hackintosh. has anybody booted a kalyway disk image inside the vm using virtualbox? is it possible?

socal swimmer
PCWiz has a VMware Leopard Image I doubt that would work with virtualbox. unless it does? what is the difference between a windows install dvd and a hackintosh install dvd in terms of booting? spartango
Unfortunately OS X guests don't work in Vbox... Deadmoo doesn't even work in *most* cases. As much as I'd love to believe that this is a nod to hackintosh, i think this is more like a porting side effect: they build vbox for windows, mac, opensolaris and *nix... the features don't change between them..
