Bonsoir a tous,

This laptop is a pain in the butt. You have to boot with cpus=1 to get to the install screen. i had to use an external monitor to install also because my display wasnt showing up but i have an x3100 anyway so you probably wont have the same prob. I also had to replace the AppleACPIPlatform.kext, AppleAPIC.kext and remove ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext from IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext. to get it fully working. i replaced those kexts with old 10.4 kexts and i have a working hackintosh only with cpus=1. i tried all the kernels and also tried a bios update none of them work. I think this Laptop needs a modified bios to get everything working correctly =/

Est-il nécessaire de modifier le BIOS?

Je suis retissant a cette manipulation car je la trouve dangereuse.

Édit : une personne m'a dis que Tiger(10.4.8) était la seule version a tourner sur ce laptop, est-ce correct?

Merci, Gajilidd.

  • 4 weeks later...

Hi, I recently was able to have a nearly perfect Leopard installation on my Lenovo Ideapad Y510.

I have the Y510 model with the T5750 processor and the X3100 graphic card. I had to buy some stuff (like 80$ value) in order to get it working.

Now here is my setup.

A few month ago I had to find an hacked bios in order for OSX to find my processor's two cores. You could stay with the latest available BIOS ( http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/en/Drive...s_show_976.html ) and I think that with DSDT now, it could work. If you want to take the same as me, go download this one : http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry811350

I have a dual boot with Vista, so my hard drive is in a MBR partition type. I imagine that GUID will work even better.

I used iPC 10.5.6 OSX.

Here's what I have selected during the installation :

- I didn't select any kernel which gives the default 10.5.6 vanilla kernel. Feel free to test other kernels.

- Drivers

o
Video
: nothing selected (I used other drivers, but it is maybe working with the one in this disc, try and test it if you want)

o
Chipsets
:

Intel ICHx SATA drivers

LegacyAppleIntelPIIXATA.kext
(not sure if that does anything)

o
Audio
:
alc888d

o
Wireless
:
broadcom driver
(for me, since I changed my card)

o
USB
:
patched usb drivers

o
Power management
:
clamshell display support
.

- Fixes and patches

o
Firewire mount fix

o
Dual boot time sync
(since I have vista also)

o
Shutdown restart
(not sure if that is working since I sometimes have problem shutting the computer after it went to sleep)

o PS2 device support

PS2 keyboard fix

o AppleSMBIOS Patch

AppleSMBIOS-27 Rev3 667 Mhz

o Alternate bootloader

Chameleon DSDT patch with custom boot picture
(you could try the other one or leave it blank, I haven't tested those one)

- Applications

o Take everything you need but be sure to select
DSDT Patcher GUI
and
kexthelper

Install. First boot.

- Install graphic kext for x3100 from ideneb ( http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?m0tgj5ygzzi ) with kexthelper.

- As for the power management, be sure to have the vanilla one. If not sure, extract it from an official 10.5.6 update with Pacifist. Install ACPIBattery.kext from superhai ( http://superhai.com/darwin.html ) with kexthelper. That was the most accurate power management I tested.

- Ricoh Flash SD card reader : Install IOSDHCIBlockDevice.kext from

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=132679

- I found out that my Firewire was not working, after a few reading I found that AppleHPET.kext was causing the problem. Even though I don't know what it is for, I decided to delete it and guess what, the firewire is now working. So far, everything else seems to work as before the removing of AppleHPET.kext. If someone knows what is its common use, please tell us.

- Time Machine was reporting an ERROR_OBTAINING_MAC_ADDRESS when selecting the Destination drive. Fixed by changing IONetworkingFamily.kext 1.6.1 to 1.6.0 found here : http://www.mediafire.com/?jzjmrw0nwit

- Open DSDT Patcher GUI. Select Vista as the os simulation, click on apply patch to : and select your hard drive. Click on Run DSDT patcher.

Once this is done (I had 5 warnings, no errors) reboot the computer. You could also repair permissions before doing that.

After the reboot, the sleep AND WAKE should work. That was impossible before. Closing the screen should also put it to sleep after a while. You'll maybe have to select "reboot automatically after a power shutdown" in Energy Saver's options if you want it to wake properly. In order to have the Deep sleep working properly, I think that you'll have to install the newest chameleon bootloader (thus removing the custom boot picture option).

Here's what is not working by default:

- Integrated wired and wireless. I had to buy a Dell 1505 802.11n (Broadcom bcm4321) from ebay and an Apple USB-Ethernet adapter. With the stock BIOS from Lenovo you cannot put the Broadcom bcm4321 instead of the intel wireless card because the laptop won't boot. Instead you can install the new card in the empty mini-pcie slot near the hard drive and connect the small antenna cables to it.

- The VGA connector for an external monitor is not able to mirror your display, but you can use it as an extended desktop. There maybe something to do with the Switchres application but I wasn't able to make it work. There are also some USB to DVI graphic card available that could maybe do the trick (but without 3d acceleration). It has to be tested.

- Brightness control: with my working drivers, I can't change the screen brigthness which is a shame for the battery life.

- Deep sleep : Its kinda not working. It goes to deep sleep, but it mainly do the same as a normal shutdown. I think I'll need latest Chameleon release for it.

- Shutdown issue : I have a weird issue with my laptop's shutdown ability. When I go to sleep and wake from it, when I shutdown my computer, I have a kernel panic, something to do with AppleHDAController.

- Earphones jack: when you plug earphones, the sound is not switching directly from the speakers to the earphones, you have to do it manually.

- Webcam: it is working quite nicely BUT the image is upside down. You can adjust it via a software but it also slows down considerably the webcam and its quality (from what I have tested).

- Ricoh Flash card reader : SD card Working with additionnal IOSDHCIBlockDevice.kext from http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=132679. Other types of cards were not tested.

- Express card : never tested.

- Modem : never tested.

- S-video: never tested.

That pretty much seals the deal. That is how I did it, but there are lots of ways. Post your setup and things that are working or not. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Have fun!
