Hi,

Recently my motherboard on my trusty Macbook died and I while I have warranty I have my doubts that apple will feel obligated to fix it as its demise took place in less than favorable conditions (Tanzania during rainy season...ouch) Anyway, if the computer isn't serviced for free I thought I'd just start over.

After extensivly reading the guides and checking compatablity I have pieced together my new computer:

Video Card: nVidia Geforce 9800 gtx 512mb

CPU: Intel quad 2.4 q6600

RAM: G. Skill 2x2gb ddr2 1100

Mother Board: Gygabite EP45 DS3L

Hard Drive: 500gb 7200

other stuff: case with 500w power and many fans, (old 22"monitor, old dvd-rom)

PRICE W/ SHIPPING AND AFTER MAIL-IN-REBATES: $720

other thoughts: I debated the bad axe 2 board though it was mighty expensive and only allowed 800 speed memory. Would I be better off going with the bad axe and the lower memory? Also with the bad axe i think I could use x-fire and install 2 ATI video cards. which would be the best bet?

While Im questioning all my before solid decisions, would I be better off with a 3.16ghz core 2 duo or the 2.4ghz quad core? (both are comperably priced)

Does anyone see any gapping flaws in my logic? Any foreseeable issues? Thoughts opinions?

HELP...please

-Ethan
