Onixs
My P5K currently has the latest bios. I want to crossflash it with P5KR (0703, latest bios). What to loose functionality in P5k & what to gain after the crossflash? (aside from AHCI). And... Is it Worth to do it? Thanks!

scrax
You loose jmicron IDE support for what i know, and you can do it also on a P5KC but you loose the ddr3 slot plus jmicron IDE support. And if not done well also the Attansic L1 could stop working

Onixs
What can I do to prevent this? You "MUST" only use this flag "/n" afudos /n /ip5kr.rom
scrax
You "MUST" only use this flag "/n" afudos /n /ip5kr.rom Yes don't use other flag only /n is needed, there are some wrong information that use also anther set of /xyz tha will reset your MAc address so be very careful just to be clear: afudos /n /iNAME_OF_THE_BIOS.rom don't forget the 'i' before the name of the bios file
tuxianer
Thank you. And is it possible to flash the P5KR-0703.ROM, because I have read somewhere, that this also erases the mac address.

Yes. Thats the last version. Should be Ok as long you only use the "/n" flag.
atka
I cross flashed a P5kC with a P5KR and never lost the jmicron ide support.
csfalcao
Hi,Happy New Year!!!! I´ve been reading a lot about crossflashing My P5K-SE with the P5KR bios to get AHCI. I did boot USB flash drive, copy both afudos and afu236u with the p5kr0605 and 0703 roms. I tested every combination of command and roms: afu236u /n /ip5kr0703.rom (/x; /nr; /pbnc; etc) but I´m stuck with this message: "rom file romid is not compatible with existing romid" I also used the /o to save a copy of my current bios, and tested to use afudos with it , it said something like: bit block not right. Could you help please, I want so bad to install Snow leo....
