The amount of glue logic that would be necessary would be costly, and the performance hit would be great. Not to mention that the PPC Macs firmware would need to be changed to EFI, and the TPM issues that would arise. Because of the TPM issues, such an upgrade would need to be from Apple (when hell freezes), or approved by Apple (around the same time Steve Jobs licenses OSX to Dell). Even without the technical barriers, this licensing issue alone makes an x86 upgrade extremely unlikely. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

PPC chips are not swappable with x86 ones cause of the arch : its big Endian VS little Endian ....much more than a socket difference..
