Hi Folks!

As i already mentioned in my first Post:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...rt=#entry941767

I had some problems loading newest driver V.2.1.3 for my Contour Shuttle Pro.

I tried different Versions (V.2.1.2, V.2.0.2) but without success.

I´ve checked VendorID (0B33) and ProductID (0011) under Vista and System Profiler match the same ID´s!

Editing ContourShuttle.kext I found out that in Info.plist for my Model Pro shows wrong ProductID (Dez. 16)

Actually should be Dezimal 17, because HEX 0011 = Dezimal 17 so I decided to make a change of it on Ver.2.1.3.

In Terminal did next steps:

sudo -s (Enter)

Type your root Password (Enter)

cd /System/Library/Extensions/ContourShuttle.kext/Contents (Enter)

chmod 644 Info.plist (Enter)

nano Info.plist (When Info.plist opens, change under Shuttle Pro 2 ... ProductID the Value 17 instead of 16)

CTRL+O Enter

CTRL+X

chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions (Enter)

rm /System/Library/Extensions.mkext (Enter)

kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions (Enter)

exit

Close all App.

It is not necessary, but you can Repair Permissions to be shore and Reboot!

After reboot everything work properly - all 13 Keys, Editing wheel and Shuffle Jog!!!

For Every single Application: Final Cut Pro HD, After Effects, etc. ShuttlePro loads automatically specific Settings. Perfect for me!

Only problem is that you cannot choose and edit Shuttle Settings manually in case you wont to make Spec.

Settings for not supported App.

The next step will be to solve this!

Any advice or good tip is welcome!

Best Regards to all OSX86 Family!

HI.

I'm desperately trying to have my Shuttle Pro working on my new MBP 2.4Ghz under MAcOsX...

I tried your solution and it does not seem to be working.

Do you have an idea why it does not?

I'm a brand new switcher and, moreover, I'm french... :(

Thanks for helping.

Well the mod works perfectly - but why the heck does the configuration dialog say 'no device found' ? That's what cheated me in the first place, i already tried this two weeks ago but believed the message in the dialog only, not recognizing that the device actually does it's thing when the configured application is active. I also own the device from the Hercules DVaction! bundle (Device ID 0x0011)

Hi.

I tried your new solution but it still does not work on my macbook pro. After the reboot, it says "the system extension can not be used" "the system extension System/Library/Extensions/ContourShuttle.kext has not been preoperly installed and can not be used. Please try to re-install or contact your seller".

I'm translating this from french...

What is the problem? Do I have to make the "Sudo s" transformtions again, or is the ketxt file enouh?

Medioevo, mine is also the Hercules shuttle pro : did you do something special?

Thank you, folks!

Hi Daillou,

QuattroFX

Thank you so much : with kexthelper, thing seems to have installed properly!

And finally, the shuttle pro can be used in applications!

Still got a little problem : when I open the shuttle settings, I also have a "no device found" message. So, it seems impossile to change the default settings, or create new ones. Did I miss something again?

Anyway, I still can learn the default settings and use them, so it's not much of a problem.

Thank you again, quattrofx!

Edit :

Forget what I just wrote, I don't know what I first did because I tried again and now I can change the default settings without any problem ; so everything is fine now! I can use mu shuttle again, thanks to you!

:)

Hey QuattroFX,

I registered to this site just to thank you very much.

I have a 'Hercules powered by Contour' as well.

For quite some years in 'not fully working'-state.

This got the whole thing working like it should.

Like I wrote: Thank you very much! :)

Does anyone have a kext that works for the ShuttlePRO v2 under OSX 10.6.2? I installed the 2.1.5 drivers from the CD (even more recent than the 2.1.4 drivers available on Contour's website), but at the end of the install I get an error.

The ShuttlePRO v2 seems to work with the preset programs, but when I try to define new settings for Apple Logic, none of the settings work.

Ideas?

From my system info:

ShuttlePRO v2:

Product ID: 0x0030

Vendor ID: 0x0b33

Version: 1.17

Speed: Up to 1.5 Mb/sec

Manufacturer: Contour Design

Location ID: 0x26210000

Current Available (mA): 100

Current Required (mA): 100

Good news from Contourdesign Companyl!

They decided to go forward in time with 64Bit World and made newest 64Bit Beta Driver V2.2b for Shuttle,

Shuttle Pro I & II with extended Support for all newest Applications: Adobe CS3 & CS4, Adobe Lightroom 2, FinalCutSuite 2 & 3, Juice 3, iMovie09, etc...

shuttlev2.jpg

Just download it from here and install:

http://retail.contourdesign.com/?/products/23

If you have previous Version already installed, don´t worry, it will be updated automatically!

Download my 64Bit ContourShuttle.Kext from the kexts.com

Install expanded .kext with Kext Utility and reboot.

Works 100% under 64Bit Snow Leopard! Tested with APremiere CS3, CS4 & CS5, iMovie09, FinalCutStudio 2 & 3...

But please follow the Instructions on first install - be careful with "F" keys!

Best Regards

QuattroFX
