I have a G5 imac, i have a dmg of leopard and im having some trouble installing.

I tried to install it from a external hard drive and i follow all the steps but as soon as i get to the part where you restart the machine using the external hard drive as the boot it just flat out wont let me proceed, i press restart and it just beeps and wont let me go further. My questions are...

Right now im using 10.3.9, right now im currently installing tiger from cds, but all this stuff i have done while in 10.3.9

Is there a way to burn leopard on a DVDDL using windows (cause my imac doesnt have a dvd burner)?

What can i do to remedy my "install from external situation?

These are the exact steps i took to install from an external drive (40gb sata, connected via usb)

The Steps:

Make a Disk Image (.DMG) from Install DVD using Disk Utility

Partition External Hard Drive for Install Partition

Restore the Partition from .DMG of Install DVD

Restart, Booting from Install Partition

Just follow this guide:

Using disk utility you can use the "restore" function to make a bootable external Firewire hard drive.

Open disk utility

Click on restore and make sure the external HD is connected and in HFS+ format.

In the "source" area navigate to the *.dmg file and select it.

In the "destination" area drag the attached HD you see on the left into it.

Click on "restore"

Disk utility will then "restore the *.dmg onto the external HD so that it becomes a bootable disk.

When that is finished restart your computer while holding down the "option" key.

You will then be able to boot from what will be called Mac OSX boot disk.Or something similar

(I think the iMac G5 can boot from USB)

OR

Use ultraiso or magiciso for windows.

OR

Use disk utility to convert dmg to iso. Then burn it on windows.
