chipxsd Posted October 28, 2008 Share Posted October 28, 2008 I have a D-Link DWA-556 adapter installed in my osx86 machine. It is recognized as an "Airport Extreme" card without any modifications. Now ... I have just updated a clean OS X - Leopard 10.5.5 (retail dvd, usb efi+vanilla) installation with the Airport Extreme Update 2008-004 (an article about the update) The card is inoperable now after the update. It survived a number of updates, but this one (2008-004) seems to have broken it. I had to revert the IO80211Family.kext and IONetworkingFamily.kext with the previous ones (from a clean 10.5.5).
